Farewell Forest City

Since departing London, ON last Friday, two things have become crystal clear through five days of non-stop driving.

The rugged, untouched beauty of the Lake Superior region that extends from Sudbury and goes west through Sault Ste. Marie, Thunder Bay, and Kenora offer 1,469 kilometers of unrivaled scenic views.

The magnitude of how truly massive Ontario is becoming abundantly clear.

The spiritually-charged Terry Fox National Historic Memorial near Thunder Bay was well worth the trip alone. A must-see stop for anyone who passes mile marker 3,339.

As we enjoy this second road trip of a lifetime, there are certain things Dana and I already miss about our former home in The Forest City.

‘While leaving home can be bittersweet, the sweet part of departing is knowing, the best parts of that home go with you”.

Relocating to a small town just west of Calgary, Alberta involved a number of personal and professional factors, but in the end, our decision is firmly rooted in the faith that there is always great potential in exploring the unfamiliar and unknown.

But, it’s still tough to leave a place you have called home for a little over seven years. Goodbyes make you think. Make you realize what you’ve had,

This is why there are many mixed emotions when it comes to saying Farewell Forest City on Leaders & Legends.

“The easiest way to find out how you feel about someone. Say goodbye” PHIL KNIGHT

p.s… Shortly after arriving in London, ON in the summer of 2015, we launched a video blog called “The Reinvention Chronicles”. This is what it was like back then when Dana and I made the first “Big Move”.
