What inspires you to celebrate?

Motivates you to high-five, fist-pump and do the happy dance? 

For Tim, his idea of a celebratory event happened as a teenager every time he and his dad took road trips away from the 1,200-acre family farm situated near the small town of Weyburn, Saskatchewan. He and his grain-farming father would head to the car auctions happening an hour down the road in the big smoke; the provincial capital of Regina. When he was 16, Tim got hooked on the energy, the excitement and elegance surrounding shiny new rides. 

Unlike a lot of high-schoolers who struggle to find their footing on any career path, Tim’s life-long ambition was to be a positive force in the automotive industry.

Tim Beach was pre-packaged and fuel-injected with upbeat mojo from Day One.  

But, for the longest time, that’s not the story that was being portrayed outwardly at his Calgary-based dealership. When we met, Tim was swimming in the sea of sameness with about 120 or so dealers in his trading area. From the outside, it was difficult to see any substantial difference between him and his competitors. Similar products at similar price points. And no matter how hard Tim and his team tried. No matter how many slick, well-packaged marketing campaigns they ran or spaghetti on-the-wall advertising dollars they threw at the problem, they still got lumped in with the rest of the copycats in a crowded category. 

All that changed in June of 2019 when Tim and his team tapped into their true character and started sharing stories of celebration on daily Facebook videos. Each day, Alberta’s Celebration Destination plants karmic seeds with a new reason to celebrate and symbolize that generous spirit with matching cakes and cupcakes.

p.s…. As Tim Beach is fond of saying, “Everyone and every business has a story to tell. You just have to dig deep to find that story and bring it to life in a way that people can see and feel”. The numbers certainly support that point of view. Over a two-year period, website traffic for Charlesglen Toyota is up by 46%. In January of 2019, there were 11,867 visitors to their website. In January of 2021, that number had climbed to 19,434, thanks to a strategy that has much less to do with marketing and just much more focused on being who they really are.
